They come from California, the West Coast and all over the United States, Mexico and Canada, the annual visitors to Sheila Varian’s Summer Jubilee weekend. The attractions are many. There are always seminars and clinics, delightful live entertainment, wonderful weather (complemented by California food and wine) as well as the real stars of the show … Varian’s magnificent Arabian horses!
The 2013 Varian Summer Jubilee will encompass Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 2 through 4, beginning with an open barn on Friday and presenting horseman Tommy Garland as the featured speaker and guest clinician on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Garland’s “CPR” for the Horse & Rider (Confidence, Patience and Respect) has garnered rave reviews through his seminars, tapes and his series on RFD TV. Tom’s easy teaching style has made fans and friends at all levels of horse experience. In addition to numerous national accomplishments in the show arena, and the fascinating Road to the Horse competitions, Garland has been named the APAHA Western Trainer of the Year on numerous occasions, most recently in 2010. In 2009 he was the recipient of the prestigious USEF Equestrian of Honor/Barbara Worth-Oakford Award. His clinic at the Varian Summer Jubilee will include some unique methods, tricks and training tools he has developed and refined through over 35 years as a horse trainer.
“I am looking forward to having Tommy Garland here as a clinician,’ says Sheila. “His methods seem very complementary to with what we do at Varian’s and I am sure I will learn a great deal. I even have some interesting challenges to offer him!”
Always outstanding, this year’s offering of Varian sale horses is particularly intriguing. Some exceptional young stallions sired by Jullyen El Jamaal are being offered. Almost all of the horses are well started under saddle in the thorough, gentle method for which the Varian Arabian horses are known all over the world. To preview this year’s collection CLICK HERE.
