In a career that has spanned over 35 years, Tommy Garland has gained notoriety and national recognition as an accomplished horseman, trainer and clinician. Tommy has personally won multiple National Championships in Western and Hunter Pleasure and has  claimed numerous National titles in the English and Driving divisions as well.  In addition to his accomplishments in the show arena, Tommy has been named APAHA Western Trainer of the Year on numerous occasions, most recently in 2010.  Tommy was also the recipient of the prestigious USEF Equestrian of Honor/Barbara Worth-Oakford Award in 2009.

Tommy’s knowledge, experience, determination, and passion are not just the driving force behind his success, they also fuel his desire to continue to help people fine-tune and develop their own horsemanship skills.  As he always says, “Actions speak louder than words,” and we think you’ll agree…watching Tommy Garland in action will inspire and motivate you to take your horsemanship skills to the next level!

Tommy and his family reside at their 30 acre training facility located in Powhatan, Virginia.  A dedicated staff, which includes interns in Tommy’s very successful Apprentice program, is key to Tommy’s continued expansion and enhancement of his highly regarded “CPR Horsemanship” training program.
