AHG Member Maxine Gallett is the winner of the October prize, a $100 gift certificate from Arabian Horse Global live streaming advertiser Iron Horse Jeans. Maxine has been a horse and Arabian rider, trainer and owner for most of her life. She’s a lady who likes to laugh and say that she was “… born on a horse.” Maxine was a trainer of Arabian horses extensively at the local and Regional levels until 1988 when she took a hiatus to begin a family. But she just could not stay away and was back and active with the horses by 1994 and has been ever since. In addition to a very busy “horse” life and a full time job in the rustic furniture business, Maxine takes a trip “out west” annually and goes on a week-long camping trip and trail ride with her horses.

“One year we went south of Yellowstone, another we were in a canyon south of Bozeman,” says Maxine. “Lately we’ve been going to the Black Hills in South Dakota and that’s where we’re headed next year too I think.”
Maxine lives in Brainerd, Minnesota where she gives riding lessons and enjoys hauling horses to the local shows, often winning up a storm in the 50 and over classes. Recently her brother Bob took up trail riding again at the age of 71. He now owns two Arabian geldings and is having a ball.
“I enjoyed watching the live streaming on Arabian Horse Global this past year,” Maxine says. “I’ve never had a pair of Iron Horse Jeans but when I found out that I’d won the $100 gift certificate, I was delighted.
