The one-year subscription to DataSource from the Arabian Horse Association is a very welcome prize for April, 2012 Arabian Horse Global winner Martha White. When informed, she was ecstatic. “That’s fantastic!” Martha laughed. “I never expected to win and I use DataSource all of the time!
Martha has twenty straight Egyptian Arabian horses at her Classic Bloodstock Farm northwest of Houston in Hempstead, Texas. She works to combine the two extremes of Arabian horse breeding: type, beauty and athletic superiority by breeding for the best quality and then proving her bloodstock on the race track.
“I bought my first straight Egyptian horse at the Bentwood Auction many years ago,” says Martha. “I got started with the help and partnership of my mother, Jean White Alexander. My pride and joy is my Blue List Egyptian mare Mia Bint Bayfire (Ali Bayfire x MB Sashali by Imperial Saturn). She is a winner in Sport Horse and open Halter competition and has been raced on the track successfully 9 times. She’s beautiful, sound and a proven race winner!”
In addition to maintaining a strenuous schedule and an active, fully functional Arabian breeding farm, Martha White is now pursuing her trainer’s license for the track, quite a challenge, as it involves a written test, a state test and a full background check.
