AHASFV 49th Annual Arabian Horse Show and Pacific Slope Championships May 10 – 13th

So Big Is Better is nine this year, but nobody has told the big, grey son of leading Arabian racing sire, Burning Sand that it’s time to hang up his racing plates. Now in his seventh season, “So Big” had his first racing success as a four-year-old at Los Alamitos in California.

The date is set and the 14-horse field has been selected for The President of the UAE Cup, a Grade 1 Stake race for Arabian horses. The 1-1/16 mile race for 4-year-olds and up is on the race card Stephen Foster Day at the historic Churchill Downs track in Louisville, Kentucky, home of the Kentucky Derby

Aurora, CO (Dec. 18, 2012) - The Arabian Horse Association recently made changes to the Arabian scoring system, making adjustments to both the Purebred Arabian Score Sheet and the Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian Score Sheet, along with corresponding class specifications listed on the back of each score sheet.

An anonymous benefactor has given $8,000 in prize money to the Arabian Reining Horse Association for prize money at the 2012 U.S. National Championship Show. According to Eleanor Hamilton, ARHA President, the money will be divided between the two “bridle horse” open classes for purebred and Half-Arabian reiners at the Arabian National Championships slated to run from October 19th through the 27th in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
