2013 Scottsdale Show Complete With Photos, Class Results and More

Pogrom, 2013 Scottsdale Supreme Champion

New buildings, a new Tent One set-up and other changes greeted arrivals to Westworld for the 2013 Scottsdale show.

Though midweek rain sent much of the open Halter competition into a nearby warm up ring, championship morning on the Wendell Arena was sunshine and wind. There the judges named Bella Vitoria ORA (Vitorio TO) the Junior Champion Filly with David Boggs at the lead. The Junior Colt rose garland left the ring with Al Shawan AS (Fa El Shawan) and Sandro Pinha.

The spectacularly beautiful Marwan Al Shaqab daughter, Najdah Al Zobair  took home the Show Champion Mare honors with Michael Byatt handling. Scottsdale Champion Stallion and Supreme Champion was *Pogrom (QR Marc). Bred and owned by the Janow Podlaski State Stud in Poland, the bay stallion was the 2011 Polish National Champion. David Boggs led the handsome and dynamic stallion for the Sloan family, leasees.

Roses in the Open Western Championship went to Monticello V with Joe Reser up. Cynthia Burkman rode IA Ambassador to Open Hunter Pleasure Champion and CP Rumor Has It to the Country English Championship. Jim Stachowski won tri-color with Sure Fire Redemption in the HA Country English Jr Horse, with Sugar Mountain in the Country English, The Renaissance in the English Pleasure and Hot Air in the HA English Pleasure Championship. Mariabella WA (Mariachi WA) and Maegan Friesen won a unanimous victory and over $40,000 in the SSS Auction Filly Championship. Magnifico Versace ER (Versace) and Jennifer Patterson won the colt division. Sunshine and 2100 Arabian horses were the real treats that made Scottsdale 2013 a perfect winter break from the rest of America’s ice and snow.
