Winner of the Arabian Horse Global Prize of the Month for July is Susan Fort of Eagle Crest Arabians, Neola, Iowa. Susan and her husband Mike own about thirty horses on their farm, located just northeast of Omaha.
Susan and Mike breed Arabians, Half-Arabians and Knabstruppers, an antique breed that originated in Spain and is noted for its leopard spots. Forts send their horses out in training with Iowa Arabian horseman Jody Strand and with Arabian trainer Alan Clanton. The Eagle Crest horses compete successfully in the show ring, often in Hunter Pleasure and Sport Horse divisions
Susan hasn’t been riding for months as she is recovering from knee surgery, but she is looking forward to being back in the saddle this fall. The Fort’s Arabian herd is dominated by good Polish bloodlines and they stand OFW Khaddar (RSD Dark Victory x OFW Shahnille by Magnum Psyche) at stud.
THIS MONTH’S PRIZE was an electric green hat carrier from The Hat Lady. Contact The Hat Lady at www.TheHatLady.com and Susan and Mike Fort at www.eaglecrestarabian.com.
